Conference Coordinator at Ecologistics, Inc.

I helped organize, plan, and run the Central Coast Bioneers Conference that takes place in October in San Luis Obispo. I mostly helped manage the registration process by organizing and analyzing the registrations that came in. I designed the conference badges, meal tickets, fieldtrip passes, and the graphic of the schedule. I also did other tasks that are assigned to me, such as writing thank-you letters to sponsors.

Legal Assistant at Jencks and Company Law Offices

May 2010 - June 2011

I was assistant to the senior attorney. I helped prepare for trials, meetings, and hearings. I collected, analyzed, and organized information, and prepared, reviewed, and revised legal pleadings, documents, correspondence, memorandums, and forms. I fact-checked, researched laws, codes, articles, judicial decisions, past court cases, and other official court documents that related to a particular case. I also acted as the office manager, and completed day to day tasks in the law office. I scheduled meetings with clients, managed accounts payable and accounts receivable, kept the calendar of deadlines and court dates up to date, kept client pleading and communication files up to date, ordered and organized office supplies, and answered the phone and took messages.

Environmental Intern at County of San Luis Obispo

January 2010 - June 2010

I was an Intern for the Environmental Division of the Planning and Building Department of the County of San Luis Obispo. I used ArcGIS 9.3 to help prepare Initial Studies, and to create data maps for meetings. I also created cover letters for Notices of Determination. I attended scoping meetings, pre-bid meetings, and Planning Commission meetings. I assisted Environmental Planners with daily tasks, such as completing applications for grants and reviewing draft Environmental Impact Reports.

Community Advisor - Poly Canyon Village at Cal Poly State University

August 2008 - December 2008

I was directly responsible for approximately 50 residents, indirectly responsible for all student residents in the apartment complex. I helped create and oversee weekly programs for residents. Weekly duties included writing and filing incident reports, conducting weekly individual visits with residents, working the front welcome desk (some secretarial tasks), and performing nightly safety rounds through the complex.

Recreation Intern at USDA Forest Service

June 2007 - August 2007

I collected survey data for the National Visitor Use Monitoring Program (NVUM) at various locations throughout the El Dorado National Forest. This was accomplished by interviewing visitors as they left designated survey areas, and compiling their answers on scantrons. While at the survey sites, I assisted forest visitors with questions and concerns, and performed safety checks. At the office I helped with secretarial tasks such as filling out paperwork and filing documents. For this job I learn how to drive a stick-shift forest truck.
